Sogelco first started off by trading foodstuffs before marketing seafood. It has always been and will always be the fundamental backbone of Sogelco International.
Sogelco has two processing plants (PEI and New Brunswick). It is our strength to produce, process, control, and market the finest quality seafood products. We also work in partnership with numerous plants to pass on our know-how for the benefit of the seafood industry.

Sogelco International as a producer, marketer and trader of fish and shellfish assumes its responsibilities in the safeguarding of sustainable fisheries through its commitment to work only with fish and shellfish that are well managed and controlled based on recognized scientific assessments. Sogelco International’s wild and farmed fish, crustaceans and shellfish are sourced from sustainable fishing and farming methods. Sustainable management practices are crucial to the future of the fishery.
Our processing plants are deeply involved in the conservation and improvement of the lobster biomass in Canada. The lobster fishery is based on key conservation procedures (carapace size limit, limited number of licenses, seasonal fishery, trap escape mechanisms for undersized lobsters, release of female lobsters bearing eggs, …) that guarantee environmentally responsible methods of harvest and processing. These methods ensure biological diversity, specie durability, wildlife protection as well as socio-economic benefits.
